A Community of Connectivity

“The IoT promotes a heightened level of awareness about our world, and a platform from which to monitor the reactions to the changing conditions that said awareness exposes us to.” -Brendan O’Brian, Chief Architect & Co-Founder, Aria Systems

Over the past couple of weeks, I have had the privilege of collaborating on behalf of with leaders in the IoT sphere on collateral that heightens awareness of the IoT and its impact on our lives. Our conversations have ranged from the difficult nature of understanding the sphere to the way the rapid growth has affected organizations. To kick off our upcoming series of videos and eBooks, I’d like to touch on IoT and what it means for

87% of people don’t understand the IoT. What is it about this rapidly growing market that makes it so hard for people to understand?

Though the IoT is simple to define – the connection of devices to the Internet, the term is often thrown around as a buzz word paired with complicated use cases. To effectively communicate this rapidly growing market, it is imperative to boil it down to its essence and to provide applications that are both easy to understand and relatable.

How does work to bridge the gap between the layperson and the industry expert?

Due to the rapid growth of the market, it’s nearly impossible for organizations, specifically those focused on the IoT, to optimize the potential of existing and future solutions alone. Consequently, collaboration with external parties, whether developers or partners, is a necessity. Here at, we are focused on contributing to the IoT by providing the software and services required to establish scalable communities that are focused on the build out of our clients’ offerings. We leverage our software and services to create these communities, whether developer or partner centric, to bring various stakeholders, laypersons and industry experts, together to advance the our clients’ goals and consequently advance the respective sphere.

How has the rapid growth of the IoT affected

The exponential growth of the IoT has captivated our prospects’ and our clients’ attention. As a result, they are recognizing the importance of diversifying and expanding existing offerings through a developer or partner ecosystem. The growth and consequential recognition has provided the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise to industry leaders such as Cisco, Avaya, and Comcast. Though we are merely the intermediary, it is exciting to serve the IoT as a platform for which related technologies can be advanced.

Spending on the IoT is expected to increase to $1.7 trillion by 2020. How does this change‘s strategic approach?

To be frank, it doesn’t change things much for us from a strategic perspective. Though we may be a SaaS provider, serving our clients, and serving them well, is our ultimate goal. One of our favorite ways to do so is to monitor our clients’ stakeholders’ experiences and suggest adjustments to workflows to ensure optimum satisfaction. Though our recommendations may change in the next few years, our 150 years of cumulative experience running partner and developer ecosystems remind us that instead of reinventing the wheel, we must continue to focus on doing what we do best.

What impression on the IoT is trying to leave?

Through our software and services, aims to help our clients effectively launch, maintain, and scale the communities that will optimize the potential of their existing and future offerings.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks to hear from the IoT experts at T-Mobile, Autodesk, Ciklum and more on the impact of the sphere on their organizations and on our daily lives.
